Why Mallorca is the Perfect Island for a Bikini Summer

If you have ever set foot in Mallorca in July, you understand. That light that bathes everything in gold in the afternoons. The water that shifts from turquoise to deep blue depending on where you stand. The beach bars that stay open until the sun decides it’s done. Mallorca is not just an island — it is an argument.

That is why Kaluca was born here. Because there is no better laboratory for designing swimwear than a place where summer is almost a religion.

The beaches you need to know

Cala Agulla. Fine sand, pine trees almost down to the waterline, crystal-clear water. For the days when you just want to lie down and do nothing. A bikini in soft colours and that’s all.

Es Trenc. The longest, the wildest, the most photographed. Caribbean waters in Europe. The kind of beach that makes you understand why people leave everything behind and stay to live on an island.

Cala Deià. Small, hidden, full of people with good taste. The water is cold and perfect. This is not a sunbed beach — it’s for jumping into the sea from the rocks.

Port de Pollença. The most beautiful promenade on the island. For those who prefer the beach as a long afternoon with an ice cream in hand.

The bikini for each plan

Mallorca has different personalities depending on which corner you’re in. The north is wilder — high cliffs, wind that sometimes picks up. The south is more accessible, the beaches easier to reach. And the east has those coves that feel like secrets.

For each version of the island, there is a bikini. In Sun Ritual SS26 we designed pieces that adapt: from tops with more support for windy, snorkelling days, to the most minimal styles for the hotel pool.

What Mallorca taught us about swimwear

That fabric matters. When you’re in the water six hours a day, the bikini has to hold up: the chlorine, the salt, the sun. Ours are made for that — not for a photograph, but for a full summer.

That colour matters. The Mediterranean has very specific colours, and there are certain tones — lilac, pale yellow, dusty rose — that simply vibrate differently against that backdrop.

That less is more. At the beach, simplicity always wins. A well-cut bikini, salt on your skin, the sun doing its work. You don’t need more to feel perfect.

Mallorca made us. And we hope our bikinis take you there — even if you’re thousands of kilometres away. 🌺
